Chapter 2 Life Change

She was locking the door but took the food tray and keep eating. She wanted to cry because she think about her bad life. She must not accept his love. But she accepted her own bad luck. After dating him, she thought he is the best person she meet. She was dating many guys before him. He was honest and caring to her all the time. She didn't get care, especially from her mother and relatives. She was trying to raise her own life by staying at her grandparents' home. Her mother was getting to jail because of drug use. When she was a teenager, her mother got out of jail. So, she followed her mother and start her life in a new place. There, she was trying to care for her fool mother all the time. Her mother was trying to spend her life as a normal person. One day, she came back home. Her mother was taking the stranger to their apartment. She asked, "who is he?". He greeted her politely, "You must be Neil's daughter". She said, "Why are you coming here with my mother". Her mother said, "Don't be rude to your future father". She said, "Future father, what are you talking about". Her mother said, "Pearl, listen to me". She said, "No, I think we can start our new life only two of us". Her mother said, "we need support and cover for your future". She said, "I don't need it". Her mother said, "Stop it right now, you need to go to University". She said, "I can go there on my own". Then, she was taking her backpack and left. Since that day, she wasn't going back there. She was meeting many men in her life for getting a place in Las Vegas and attend the university. Finally, she met him at last and her life turn out like this. Suddenly, she was thinking about her friend who share a room with her. She was looking at the calendar in her phone. She noticed today is the due date. At that time, someone was opening the lock. She shouts up there, "Go away, I need time". Then, the door opened and the person appear in front of the door. She said, "Why are you buying those". He said, "Aren't you clear". She said, "Clear what". He was stepping forward to her and said, "You are finishing your food". She said, "I don't want to become like this". He was coming closer to her and grabbing her neck. He was whispering to her ear, "You choose it and now you don't want it". She said, "You are asking me to kill my lover how can I do that". He said, "You must strong enough to choose wisely". She said, "Stop tickling my ears with your hot breath". He said, "I can do more than that but not now". Then, he pushed her away. Before he closed the door, he said, "Have a nice dream tonight because you will need to start your new life with me". And then, he left, and the door closed. She was running up to the door and begging him for opening up and let her go. The door was locked from the outside.

Tomorrow morning, she was sleeping on the bed. Her eyes were swallowing because she cry until she fall into a deep sleep. The maids were getting inside the room. She was opening her eyes. And then, the maids said, "Good morning Ma'am". She said, "What are you and why". She was getting up from her bed but her head was aching. One of the maids handed over honey lemon tea. she said, "Thanks". Then, they hung the clothes on the hanger stand and tell her to take a bath first. She was going into the bathroom. But the maids were standing in front of the bathroom door. Some maid was serving her inside the bathroom. They were helping her shave her body hair and put on lotions and others. After that, the maids who stood aside from the bathroom door come into the bathroom and help her dress up. This time, she couldn't deny them because the last time he tell her to do so. She didn't know how long will it be. She must stay and follow his will and treat him well until he says it's clear. She was wearing a short mini dress and wear makeup and a hairdo. She was looking at herself in the mirror and was sad to see these changes. And then, she goes downstairs to him. He was waiting for her in the dining room. When she appeared, he look at her once and turn his face back to his dish. He said, “You look great in this outfit”. She said, “All your wishes Sir”. He was glancing back at her and said, “What make you change in tone”. She said, “Can you do me favor”. He said, “what is it”. She was stepping closer to him and show the picture of her friend who share the apartment with her. And then, he looked at the picture and said, “who is she”. She said, "the person in this photo is my roommate and childhood friend who share an apartment with me over years ago”. He was looking at her face once again and said, "So". She said, “So, I need your help to find and help her”. He said, “You are having many debts to pay me”. She said, “I know but I don't want her to worry about me”. He said, “Okay what's the deal with me”. She said, “I am already at your service”. He asked, “What was your precious”. She was giving her a ring. She said, “this is my precious thing which is the last present of my father”. He said, “I appreciate your mind but you keep it back”. She said, “So, will you”. He said, “I am an honest person so I promise to make it happen”. She said, “Thanks”. He said, “For the first time, come here and help me have my breakfast”. She was gripping her hand and shivering with anger. But she put the smiling mask on her face and feed him. It wasn’t longing because the phone on the table start ringing. Suddenly, he stood up from there and said, “You should eat your breakfast now”. And then, he leaves. She was feeling a bit relaxed now. The maids were preparing dishes for her but those are light foods. She asked, “Why is this?”. The maids said, “Master didn’t want a fat girl to serve him all the time”. She said, “Do you mean I can not weight gain”. They said, “Yes, Ma'am”. She was having her breakfast and go back to her room.

Boss was going to his own construction site because the construction manager say there is a problem. He didn’t know what is going on. But he must go and check over there. Before he got, he made a call to the senior engineer who design the blueprint and take responsibility for this site. He couldn’t contact him after making 3 or 4 calls. So, he was calling the site manager. The site manager was picking up the phone and he ask the site manager about the engineer. Then, he heard about the horrible situation at there. That was being the reason why he decide to catch the senior engineer back and push him to get it done. If the construction site gone worse, he will lose his money. He was investing much amount of money in it. The other investors are also included in this hotel and resort construction. This project was huge to get it done. However, he decided to get it done anyway. On his way to the construction site, he was making a call to the regional associates of district 9. During the call, he was telling them for finding the girl whom he send in the message and then give an apartment to her and tell her not to worry about her roommate again. He hoped the associate can do this. And then, he focused back on the mission.

Pearl’s friend was sleeping for a night at the motel. She hadn’t much money left. And then, she tried to call Pearl. But Pearl’s phone was still out of the area. She was shouting out loud saying, “Grh…Pearl where are you now”. Actually, Pearl was waiting for her call but she don’t think it was a signal. All of sudden, Ruby heard the door knocking sound. She was asking, “Who is there?”. But there was no answer. She was going up to the door and opened it. And then, she saw black-suited men like the mafia stand in front of her door. Some of them were smoking. She said, “You can’t smoke here”. That guy was stop smoking and kill the fire under his boot. One of them asked her by showing the picture from the phone. She asked, “Where did you get that”. They said, “So, are you the right person”. She said, “Yes, I am and where is she now”. The leader told with a cold and clear voice, “she is alright and we are coming here for taking you to the new place to stay”. She said, “Wait I can’t go anywhere else before she calls her to explain this situation”. They looked at each other and said, “Okay then”. Their leader was calling to their boss. Later, the leader was giving her the phone by saying, “Talk to her”. She was grabbing the phone holding her breath and listen. She heard, “Ruby is that you”. She couldn’t hold her tears when she hear her friend’s voice on the phone. She asked, “Where are you now Pearl”. Pearl replied, “Don’t ask me because I don’t know actually”. Ruby said, “Is that true? You tell them to find me and take me to a new apartment”. Pearl said, “Yes”. Ruby said, “why aren't you coming here”. Pearl said, “this is the last thing I can do for you”. Ruby said, “wait a minute, what do you suppose to say”. Pearl said, “I don't have much time to talk with so I am sorry for causing you trouble on that day and this is my last gift to you”. Then, Pearl was hanging up the phone. The big man in a black suit was taking that phone and said, “Now, shall we go now”. Ruby said, “what did you do to her”. They said, “we are now obeying our master’s order so you need to thank our boss”. Ruby said, “Thanks for what”. They said, “Thanks for his kindness". Then, they got into her room and pack her things. Some of them led the way to help her get into the car. The investigator was following all the time for checking where they go and what they do. They noticed that well. But they weren’t breaking any rules right now. She was getting into their car with force.
