Chapter 3

When I got home, Bianca was still not back.

I carefully rolled up my pant leg.

The stump was rubbed raw and bleeding, so I routinely applied ointment to the wound.

In the past, even if the house was empty, I would hide in the bathroom to tend to it.

Bianca hated seeing my stump more than anything.

"Flynn, can you keep that thing out of my sight? It is disgusting!"

Tonight, however, I was exhausted. I did not want to hide, so I bandaged it right in the living room.

To my surprise, the front door swung open.

Silas walked in, supporting a visibly drunk Bianca.

When he saw me, a look of disgust and malice flashed across his face.

"Gross. Flynn, are you taking care of your severed leg out here?"

"My poor Bianca. Married to such a useless man who cannot even drive her home."

Bianca was deeply intoxicated, burying her face deeper into his chest.

I remained completely unbothered and continued wrapping my wound.

"Good thing you are here to drive her. I will leave her in your care from now on."

Silas paused, then let out a mocking sneer before lifting Bianca into his arms.

"Acting tough, aren't you? You better mean what you say."

"Do not worry, I will."

Normally, even in a wheelchair, I would have rushed forward to pull her away from him.

Now, that desire was gone. I only wanted to finish patching myself up and get some sleep.

Bianca suddenly spoke up.

"Why are you being so sarcastic? Silas was just kind enough to bring me home."

"Do you have to make our relationship sound so dirty?"

"Besides, Silas is right. You are just a useless cripple who cannot even pick me up!"

My breath caught for a second. It felt as though a sharp dagger had stabbed straight into my heart.

It still hurt, but not nearly as much as before.

I pushed my wheelchair forward and offered a calm smile.

"Yes, you are right."

"There are plenty of guest rooms. Make yourselves at home and get some rest."

Without waiting for their reaction, I turned and entered the bedroom.
