"To where I belong," I said.

Chloe frowned even harder than before.

"Connor, I know we had a fight, and yes, it was messy."

"But you're a grown man, do you really need to hold a grudge over something so petty?"

"I barely even recognize you right now."

Petty?

Even now, Chloe still thought her blatant betrayal was just a petty issue.

Seeing that I wasn't speaking, she took the initiative to lean closer to me.

But the next second, the phone in her pocket rang.

With just one glance at the screen, her face lit up with pure joy.

She couldn't wait to grab her phone and walk to the side.

That kind of expression was something she had never shown when she was with me.

I didn't even have to guess to know who was on the other end of the line.

A moment later, Chloe put her phone away and walked back to me.

"Something came up, so we can't have breakfast together."

"Let's have dinner tonight, and we can talk about our future then."

Future?

Did Chloe really think we still had a future together?

I let out a cold laugh and got into the taxi without looking back.

Chloe was stunned by my actions and fiercely grabbed the car door.

"What exactly are you trying to pull, Connor?"

"We broke up, didn't I tell you that last night?" I asked in return.

Chloe's face was full of disbelief. "Are you serious?"

When I remained completely silent, she kept pushing.

"Is this because of that commercial yesterday?"

"Connor, I've already explained it to you! You don't work, and I need to make money to support us!"

"Can you stop being so unreasonable?"

Chloe sounded so righteous that even I almost believed her nonsense.

But she conveniently forgot that all her living expenses, and even the mansion she lived in, were paid for by me.

Too lazy to argue with her, I just told the driver to go.

Chloe didn't expect me to be so ruthless, and she let go of the car door.

Her expression instantly twisted into pure anger.

"Fine! Leave!"

"But if you walk away today, don't you dare come back!"

"Even if you get on your knees and beg me to take you back, I won't give you a chance!"

The driver looked at me, and I simply nodded.

The next second, the car shot forward like an arrow released from a bow.

Chloe, who couldn't dodge in time, was covered in a cloud of exhaust and dust.

Her face grew even more furious, but I couldn't care less.

I closed my eyes, and my mind was flooded with the past I shared with Chloe.
