Chapter 1

Right before New Year's Day, a car accident stole my miracle. My husband, Weston, comforted me and told me to rest at home while I healed from the loss.

But on New Year's night, I walked into a private lounge and found a woman in a sheer black dress draped over his lap. They were tangled together, laughing and whispering.

When Weston saw me, he didn't even flinch.

"Grace, don't overthink it. You're not in the right shape to take care of me lately, and a man has needs."

"Relax, I'm using protection. Nothing messy is going to happen."

I wanted to scream that she was the one who hit me with her car.

Instead, Weston accused me of looking for trouble.

He shoved me onto the balcony and locked the door behind me.

"Don't push your luck, Grace. I'm only human!"

The next morning, his face turned ghost-white when he saw the trail of blood beneath me.

On New Year's Day, Weston took a call and headed for the door.

"Friends are getting together. Don't wait up for me."

Later, I found his wallet on the counter and rushed to the exclusive club he usually visited.

The valet recognized me and froze. He hesitated as if he wanted to stop me, but ultimately, he let me pass without a word.

The moment I opened the door to the VIP suite, a wave of low laughter and cloying perfume hit me.

Weston was leaning back in the center of the sofa, a crystal glass in one hand. His other arm was casually draped around a woman's waist.

She was wearing a sheer black slip dress that left nothing to the imagination.

One strap was sliding off her shoulder, revealing pale, shimmering skin.

She leaned back, her chest pressed against Weston's shoulder.

His hand slid from her waist to her thigh, giving it two playful pats.

The woman seemed delighted. She spun around and straddled his lap, hooking her arms around his neck.

The other guys in the room started hooting.

"Nice one, Wes! She's a firecracker!"

Another guy winked and blew a whistle, sliding a fresh drink across the table.

"Come on, let's toast to the new sister-in-law!"

Weston leaned back further, blocking the glass with a smirk.

"Stop talking nonsense. There's only one Mrs. Sterling."

"You guys better behave. She's Quinn, a new intern at the firm."

Quinn pouted as if she had been deeply offended, wiggling her hips slightly.

"So I'm just an intern to you, Weston? That hurts."

"Enough, don't be a brat."

Weston pinched her chin gently. He picked up a delicate diamond bracelet from the table and fastened it around her wrist.

"Wait, isn't that the piece Grace designed?"

Someone recognized it and let out an exaggerated laugh.

"Wes, aren't you afraid Grace will find out?"

"Afraid of what?"

Weston scoffed, his voice turning cold.

"I haven't done anything wrong. I've been more than good to her."

Hearing those words, I couldn't stay silent a second longer.

"Weston Sterling, am I supposed to thank you for your charity?"

Weston finally noticed me standing at the door. A flash of discomfort crossed his face.

But it was gone in an instant. He rubbed his temples with irritation.

"Grace, don't make such a scene. I wasn't lying."

Quinn acted as if she were terrified, burying her face in his chest.

Weston rubbed her back to soothe her.

"Your body is a mess right now. You can't satisfy me, so I had to find someone else to handle it."

I stared at him, my body shaking with rage. I couldn't believe these words were coming from the man I loved.

"Don't worry," he continued.

"I use protection every single time. There won't be any accidents. If I'm going to have a child, it will be with you."

He let out a sharp, mocking laugh. His tone turned accusatory.

"But what's the point? Even when we tried, you were too weak to keep the baby, weren't you?"
