I transmigrated into a trashy, heart-wrenching novel as the villainous NPC.

I arrived just in time for the grand finale.

Because I supposedly ruined the male lead's chance at the Ivy League entrance exams, my two biological brothers forced me to my knees.

My oldest brother beat me ruthlessly with a heavy rod.

"Don't you dare stand up until you've kowtowed a thousand times!" he roared.

My second brother threw a bottle of poison at my feet.

"A piece of trash like you should just die," he sneered.

I let out a cold laugh, picked up the bottle, and gulped it down without a second thought.

My brothers' faces turned pale with terror.

"Are you insane?"

"You actually drank it!"

My second brother, Jasper Yates, threw a bottle of poison in front of me.

I was kneeling on the floor, my exposed skin covered in cuts and ugly purple bruises.

My oldest brother, Xander Yates, spoke with a voice like ice. "Apologize to Chloe right now, or you can go to hell!"

Chloe Gardner quickly put on her best damsel-in-distress act.

"Xander, Jasper, please don't hit Zoe because of me. I only lost my chance at the exams. I can always retake them or just find a job."

Her words only fueled my brothers' fury.

They grew even more enraged, convinced they were standing up for their poor, mistreated Chloe.

Jasper swung his foot, his leather boot slamming hard into my stomach.

Xander looked at me with pure loathing and backhanded me across the face.

"Apologize to Chloe, now!"

I laughed coldly, staring at the bottle of poison on the floor.

What a pathetic NPC life, to be treated like this by her own flesh and blood.

I grabbed the bottle, twisted the cap, and poured the liquid down my throat.

"No! What are you doing?!"

Jasper screamed, his face draining of all color.

Even the usually composed Xander looked completely panicked in that moment.

"Are you insane?"

"You actually drank it!"

My consciousness began to fade into a blur. I wanted to tell them there was nothing to be afraid of.

The original soul of this body was just a villainous NPC destined to die anyway.

I remembered the original plot stated she died today, though she was supposed to use a knife.

Drinking poison shouldn't change the outcome much.
