Chapter 3

I was honestly speechless. He was already planning out his royal bloodline.

He kept talking about his "noble" firstborn. He seemed to forget that he was the son of a consort himself, not the Queen.

He told me that if I wanted a child, he would eventually give me one, but only if I behaved. He said after I had a pup, he would never touch me again.

I laughed at his "generosity." I turned to Jade and asked her what she thought of this plan.

She looked at Silas with pure devotion. She said she would follow whatever the Alpha Heir decided and hoped she could get pregnant quickly so I could have my turn.

She said once we both had pups, we could live in peace like sisters. She really thought she was being kind.

I used to think Jade was brave for joining the army. But she was just another woman who defined her worth by how many pups she could give a man.

Her title as commander didn't give her independence. It just gave her a superiority complex.

My mother couldn't take it anymore. She shouted that our family didn't need to sell our daughter for a meal and that I would always have more wealth than Silas could ever dream of.

It was true. My mother had built a business empire since she was a teenager. People said she was richer than the King.

Silas and Jade looked embarrassed. I pulled my mother back and decided to end this.

I told Silas that if he wanted to break the engagement, I would go to the King myself. But I warned him not to regret it, because I would never look back.

They looked like clowns to me. They thought they didn't need my family anymore now that Silas had his title.

They had no idea that I was the one who made Silas look like a leader. Without me, he was just a pup playing dress-up.

Silas looked relieved when I agreed. He said he felt bad and asked what kind of compensation I wanted.

I told him to stop talking because it was making me sick. Then I asked him if he really believed he won those battles all by himself.
