Chapter 2
Chapter 2
Realizing I could change my fate, my mood instantly brightened. I could not help but hum a little tune.
Lana saw my indifferent expression and rolled her eyes at me.
She turned back to Yina with a fake smile. "Yina, do you want in? We can all make money together and stop relying on our parents."
She was clearly trying to get the whole dorm to isolate me.
But Lana did not understand Yina at all. Yina was not the type to get involved.
Just as I expected, Yina politely declined the offer.
"Another one who does not know a good deal when she sees it," Lana huffed.
She grabbed the dinner Tina brought and set it on the desk. "Come on, Tina. I will treat you to a steak dinner tonight instead!"
As I watched them leave, I knew that the real battle had only just begun.
Before long, Lana's online shop was booming, and Tina became her most devoted follower.
Tina used the money she earned to buy several new outfits.
She started acting like a queen in the dorm, telling me I was an idiot for crossing Lana.
"You could have been living the high life with us if you weren't so stuck up," Tina sneered.
I gave her a mocking smile. "You should be careful. Aren't you afraid Lana is playing you? If the money is so easy, why is she sharing it?"
Lana looked like I had poked her in a sore spot. "You're just jealous! You're trying to drive a wedge between us!"
Tina chimed in, looking indignant. "Exactly. You're just bitter."
At that moment, there was a knock on the door. It was a girl coming to buy makeup.
She stepped in shyly. "Is this the room with the beauty shop? I'm here for the foundation I ordered."
Tina put on her best salesperson face. "Yes, that's us! You must be Celine, right? I have it all packed for you."
When I heard the name Celine, I looked up immediately.
This was the girl who, in my past life, suffered such a horrific allergic reaction that her face never recovered.
I watched Tina reach into the cabinet to hand her the package.
Wait! That packaging looked so familiar.
It had the same little bear sticker as the one from my previous life.
My death in the river was the direct result of the chain reaction caused by this very girl's tragedy.
Just as the package was about to reach Celine's hand, I snatched it away.
"What the hell are you doing!" the three girls screamed at once.
I took the foundation bottle and slammed it onto the floor. The liquid splattered everywhere.
"This foundation is toxic. If you use it, it will destroy your face. Do not touch it!"
Celine looked at Lana and Tina, her eyes wide with fear.
Lana was furious that her property was destroyed. She grabbed my arm.
"What is wrong with you? I use this foundation all the time. Does my face look ruined to you?"
She pointed to a nearly empty bottle of the same brand on her desk.
The truth was, the brand had sent her a real bottle first.
But to save money, they started sending her fakes to sell to others.
That brand eventually ended up being sued into bankruptcy.
Seeing Lana's evidence, Tina regained her confidence and turned to Celine.
"Ignore her. She's just mad because we didn't let her join the business. She's trying to sabotage us."
In Celine's eyes, she saw Lana with an empty bottle of her own and me as a crazy girl who just smashed her purchase.
Naturally, she chose to believe Lana.
