Chapter 3

3

I rushed to grab my grandmother's body, but Silas grabbed me by the throat.

Just as he was about to snatch my bracelet, a gunshot rang out, shocking everyone.

Arthur Beaumont held a pistol pointed directly at Silas's head.

"If any of you pieces of trash touches Ms. Sterling again, don't blame my bullets for being blind!"

He was the crown prince of the underworld, a man with terrifying power and a legal permit for that gun.

Everyone froze. Silas turned pale but didn't let go of me immediately.

"Arthur Beaumont, have you lost your mind? Willa is just a street performer, a fraud. You're calling her a master?"

"I'm doing God's work here, cleaning up the streets. Look at all these victims. If you don't want a beatdown, get lost and mind your own business."

Arthur didn't even blink. He fired a shot right between Silas's feet.

Silas cursed and let go of me. Arthur immediately stepped forward and shielded me.

After helping me secure my grandmother's body, he offered a briefcase full of cash and pleaded with me.

"Ms. Sterling, my mother just passed away. The doctors said there's no hope. I'm begging you to help me."

"She is my only family left in this world."

I looked at the group Silas had hired to ruin my reputation. To save my family name and avenge my grandmother, I made a decision.

I suppressed my killing intent and looked at Silas.

"Silas Blackwood, do you have the guts to make a bet with me?"

"Let's see who can bring someone back to life first―me or Seraphina."

Seraphina, who had been watching from the side, burst out laughing.

"Willa, just because Arthur calls you a master doesn't mean you are one. Who are you trying to scare? If you can actually revive someone, I'll get on my knees and bow to you three times."

I sneered. "I don't care about your worthless bows. If you're brave enough, bet your shares in the Blackwood Group."

Based on my past life, I knew Silas had already given Seraphina half of his shares.

She went silent. I poked her further.

"What? Scared? I guess an Ivy League doctor is just a coward who's all talk. I'll bet a hundred million dollars."

"A hundred million? Ha! You couldn't get that much if you sold your soul!"

Silas laughed hysterically. I calmly pulled out a black card and raised my wrist with the bracelet.

"And I'll add my family heirloom―this jadeite bracelet."

Arthur chimed in immediately. "If that's not enough, add the liquid assets of every bank under the Beaumont name."

"I am betting it all on Ms. Sterling."

That's everything available right now.
