Chapter 2

Kaiden's Pov

Kaiden stares out the window blankly as he toyed with the signet ring of his finger that was returned to him as soon as he stepped into his vehicle.

After his call with his sister Kaiden quickly found himself in the back of the black Mercedes Benz as he was being driven toward one of his family's villas in the city. Instead of his usual shabby clothing, he was now dressed in a custom leather suit with a golden watch on his right wrist.

But the most significant change was that he removed his blue contact lenses. After so many years he was finally able to show the true color of his eyes which were a beautiful violet. His family has always claimed that they descended from gods and their unusual eye colors proved this.

" Mr Reign's we'll arrive at the family compound soon," his driver said looking up at him in the rearview mirror. Kaiden nods not saying and as he leaned back into his seat with a sigh. It's been three years since he last saw anyone from his family.

Ever since he married Clara his parents were forced to cut all contact with him for the duration of his marriage. But a few days ago he got a call that both his parents had perished in a car accident.

He had his younger sister Emily but she wasn't the heir to their family he was, so she had been pressuring him to return home and become the new head of the family. He had refused not wanting to leave his wife but after the events this morning he was more than eager to return home.

Soon his vehicle began driving up a hill passing by many massive and luxurious villas and mansions. But at the very top was the most beautiful and luxurious villa that anyone would ever see. Also one of his families holiday homes. After his driver spoke to the guards at the gate they waved his vehicle in.

They soon began driving towards the villa. Two massive hedge mazes were on both sides of the driveway. The car soon stopped in front of the villa's entrance where Kaiden saw his family's retainer Thomas standing with the members of the maid staff waiting on him.

As soon as the car stopped his driver got out and opened the door for him. As Kaiden stepped out of the car and walked up the steps everyone bowed to him. " Welcome home, Mr. Reign's," they all said in unison. Kaiden nods to them and they all held their bows.

Thomas bowed " Good day Mr. Reign's and welcome home, let me be the first to convey how we all missed you dearly Sir," he said. Kaiden nods " It's good to be home Thomas," he said. Thomas bowed once more " This way please Sir Ms Reign's is waiting on you in the foyer," he said.

Kaiden nods as he began following Thomas past all the maids who kept their heads bowed hot daring to look at him. All except for one who snuck a glance at him then bit her bottom lips as she blushed hopeing that Kaiden didn't notice.

Kaiden strode towards her and then gripped her chin in his hand and tilted her head to look up into his eyes. " What's your name?" he asked her. I..Its Rebecca sir?" she said her blush deepening.

" Well Rebecca today is your luck day I want you to meet me in my room tonight," he said. She gasped as she heard this but she quickly regained her composure. " Y.Yes Sir," she said. " Good girl," he said stroking her cheek with the back of his family's signet ring which caused a shiver to travel through her body.

He stepped away from the flustered maid and then turned towards Thomas who waited patiently. " Shall we continue Sir?" he asked. Kaiden nods " Lead the way," he said simply. Thomas nods and leads him into the beautiful and luxurious villa that screamed both power and prestige.

Two things that his family held in spades. His family was the richest family on the planet with assets totaling trillions of dollars, how his family got this wealthy would always remain a secret that Kaiden tried to figure out for years but failed.

In the middle of the foyer stood an incredibly beautiful woman. She had violent eyes similar to his, Her shoulder-length hair was black with blue highlights, she had long lashes and plump lips, and was wearing a white business suit that did little to hide her voluptuous body.

As he looked into the irritated violet eyes of the sister he couldn't help but smile. " Hey little Sis how's it going?" he asked. She scowls " Hows do you think It's going you disappear for three years playing faithful husband and I haven't heard anything from you since Mom and Dad died now you're here to take over the family," she said.

Kaiden narrowed his eyes " First of I didn't abandon anyone I was fulfilling grandfather's wish and it's not like I asked to be the heir" he said. She sighed in defeat " I know it's not your fault it just irritates me that's all" she said rubbing a weary hand down her face.

" Look Sis for what it's worth I'm not ready to take over the family just yet I have other things to do so you can continue being the head of the family until I'm done," he said. Emily raised an eyebrow at him " And what would that important thing be?' she asked.

Kaiden eyes became cold " Ruining my soon-to-be ex-wife and her family along with everyone else who wronged me," he said. Emily nods " I had a feeling you were going to say that we'll speak about this further in the morning right now you look like crap and need to get some rest," she said.

" And what will you be doing?" he asked. Emily rolled her eyes " As I'm still technically the head of the family I must manage our affairs and that's what I'll be doing" she said taking out her phone. Kaiden nods and then began walking towards the stairwell until Emily called out to him.

" Would you like me to send an escort up to your room since you haven't done anything in three years" she teased. Kaiden scowled " Fuck you I don't need your help I already found someone for tonight," he said. Causing Emily to laugh " There's my big brother I know and love, I'm glad to see that being the Mason family's little bitch for three years hasn't changed you," she said.

Kaiden scowled as he walked up the stairs toward his room he heard Emily chuckle before she placed her phone to her ear and walked away. He shook his head with a smile on his face as he walked down the hallway toward his room.

Passing by portraits of family over the years ended with Archibald Reign's the founder of his family and the man that made them what they were today. Bowing his head in respect to his many a great grandfather he walked into his room.

His room was just as grand and luxurious as the rest of the villa. Despite him being away for three years his room was kept clean. As he looked around the familiar interior of his room he heard a hesitant knock on his door. " Mr. Reign's?" he heard the voice of the maid he had chosen earlier.

He turned towards the door " Come in" he said. The maid stepped in nervously once she saw Kaiden standing there showed bowed immediately. " Come in and close the door," he said. She nods and then closed the door and then stood there nervously while wringing her hands together while looking at him.

Kaiden approached the maid and then held her cheek in his hand " Why are you so nervous your not a virgin are you?" he asked. She shakes her head " N.No I'm not it's just that your the most gorgeous man I've ever seen and I can't believe that you're talking to me much less saying that you want to sleep with me" she said.

" Then let me prove how much I mean it," he said pressing his lips to hers. She moaned as she wrapped her arms around his neck depending on n e kiss. After about a minute of kissing Kaiden broke the kiss and then ran his thumb along her lips.
