Chapter 2 The wolfsbane

Chapter 2 Aurora's P.O.V

I sat upright on my bed, removing the sheets that was wrapped around my body. I darted my eyes to the purple drapes that served as a cover for the window and my heart stopped for a moment when my eyes caught the huge portrait of Alpha Zane that was hung on the wall across me. In the portrait, he was wearing a black tuxedo suit that displayed his muscled chest. His teutonic gold hair were coiffed to perfection and his eyes gleamed like they were a sparkle with mirth and shone like the stars were gathered inside. His eyes were as bright as lode stars that someone could get lost in them. He had a wide smile on his face that looked like a beam of light that could illuminate the darkest corners of the room. Alpha Zane's portrait would make one think that he was the nicest person in the world but the case was otherwise. How I got here was what I couldn't decipher! From what I can remember, I fell to the ground and saw an Italian shoe before me. I let out a groan as I felt a sharp pain in my head "I must have really hit my head on the floor". But, how did I get here? Alpha Zane clearly detests me so who was trying to put me in trouble by bringing me into this room plus we had a dinner party to prepare for! What was happening. I leapt up from the bed and strode towards the door when an hoarse and deep husky voice caused me to pause at my track "Where do you think you are going to?" My fingers began to tremble as I slowly turned towards where the voice emanated from. He was sitting on the Piano's bench with his gaze fixated on the keyboard, he raised his head up to mine and it sent chills down my spine as I quickly lowered my head, staring at my feet. "I thought I asked a question?" I heard him say. "I-I didn't mean to leave" I stuttered with my head still ducked down. "You must be wondering why you are here?" He scoffed as he began to play the Piano. "Yes" I muttered under my breath, fervently praying that he releases me before he decides to take out his anger on me again because to me, he was a psychopath who should be locked up in a mental institute. "Did you miss me so much that you fainted" I heard him scoff again while I bit my lower lip as Aya growled angrily inside of me"I wish I could devour him and make him fall at your mercy." He shot a glare that sent chills down my spine. His teutonic gold hair were curled all the way back as his high peeked cheekbones complimented his chiseled jawline. His sea rover blue eyes pierced into mine and it felt like every part of me was weakend with the way he glared at me. I quickly ducked my head down, fiddling with my fingers as I swallowed the heavy lump that formed in my throat. I heard footsteps approaching me and I knew that I was in for trouble again but the question was what did I do again? The earthly scent that swirled around him alerted me that he was here. "Raise your head" Alpha Zane commanded in an harsh tone, slowly trailing his hands over my face while I felt a feeling of electricity rush through me, weakening all the nerves I had inside of me. The feeling of his fingers brushing through my skin sent cold shivers down my spine and my stomach tied in a knot from the effect of his touch. I raised my head and tried to so hard to avoid making eye contacts with him as I felt a sudden wave of uneasiness. "You heard that I was back and you fainted" He scoffed while I lowered my head, cowering in fear. All of a sudden, I felt his grip around my jaw as he jerked my head up with his face hovering over mine. My heart juddered as he tightened his grip around my jaw "So you fainted because of me? I am sure that you wish I wasn't back," He said as my eyes twinkled with tears. "N-No, Master" He released his grip around my shoulder and before I could heave a sigh of relief, I felt a hit that landed across my right cheek. Another cheek landed on my cheek as I fell on the bed, trying to scamper for safety. But he caught me by the wrist and pushed me till my back hit the glass shelve, causing it to shatter to the ground with the books falling on my head. "You broke my possession?" He thundered, approaching me fiercely while I tried to crawl on my feet despite the pain from the shards of glasses that pierced in the foot. Alpha Zane grabbed a fistful of my hair and hauled me up with it as I let out a loud scream because of the broken pieces that pierced further into my skin. "You horrible wench!" He sent a slap across my face, causing me to fall on the shattered pieces of glasses again. Aya howled inside of me, crying about how she wished she could come to my rescue and save me from the hands of this horrible Alpha. He kicked me in the stomach till I blurted out blood from my mouth, when he noticed that I was too weak to even lift a finger, he yelled for a servant to drag me out his room and clean up the mess. After I was dragged out of his room, a middle-aged servant whose name is Layla, applied ointment on my wounds as I writhed in pain. I was grateful that she did not yell at me or try to hit me when I quivered because of her touch on my wound. She didn't say a word and kept on applying the ointment on my skin before using a bandage as a cover. She handed me so pills and a glass of water. I sniffled as I threw the pills into my mouth and downed the whole glass of water. "Have you eaten" She asked. "No" I nodded. "You shouldn't take a drug on an empty stomach" "I would be right back," She said, slamming the door shut behind her. My mind strayed to the maltreatment that I received from Alpha Zane. What I did to warrant that treatment was what I found difficulty in decoding. I wish him all the bad things of this world and hopes that he would never find his mate and remain lonely for the rest of his life. The moon goddess must not have given him a mate for a good reason and I hope she doesn't give him his mate till loneliness overshadows his life.
