My husband, Mark, believes I deliberately flew into turbulence to scare his ex-girlfriend, Sarah.

"Sarah has a fear of heights! You dared to put her through that, you'll pay tenfold!"

He handcuffed me, dangling me from the wing of his private jet, instructing his assistant to fly into every turbulent patch.

I struggled, pleaded, explained the mortal danger, but he only laughed.

"Now you know it's dangerous? See if you dare abuse your captain's authority again!"

My screams were lost in the roar of the engines, my three-month pregnancy ending in a bloody mess, staining the clouds crimson.

Two hours later, Mark, looking at his rosary beads, felt a pang of pity.

"Let Sarah come up, have a meal, then continue her punishment."

Silence.

My insides had burst under the high-altitude pressure.

"Where's that jealous bitch, Sarah? Learned her lesson?"

"Mr. Foster, maybe we should… stop…" the trembling assistant stammered from the cockpit.

Mark snorted dismissively.

"Only two hours? That harpy's as tough as her mouth; she can handle another two!"

The assistant wiped his brow.

"But the temperature in the troposphere is below zero, maybe minus forty, fifty degrees. She's not dressed for it…"

"Oh? I overlooked that."

Mark stroked his rosary beads, a flicker of hesitation in his eyes.

Then, another patch of turbulence appeared on the windshield. He seemed to make up his mind.

"See that turbulence ahead? Fine, one last time, then we'll bring her down!"

The assistant nodded meekly.

BANG!

The plane bucked violently, red emergency lights flashing. Even Mark needed several bodyguards to steady him.

Sarah emerged from the cabin, removed her eye mask, and stretched languidly.

"Mmm, Mark…"

Mark pulled her onto his lap.

"Sarah, scared?"

Sarah shook her head vigorously.

"Mark, I told you, as long as you're with me, I'm not afraid of anything!"

Mark gently squeezed her cheek.

Sarah giggled, then gasped.

"Oh! I promised I'd let Sarah down after I woke up. Silly me, I overslept!

How long has it been? Is she angry? I have to apologize!"
