Chapter 3

3

"Someone grab that old geezer! Beat him!"

Rain, embarrassed, waved her hand, and several security guards surrounded my dad.

These guards, who fawned over my dad at the start of the party, had changed their tune.

"You dare touch me?"

"Why not? Who do you think you are?"

The guards, intimidated by my dad's aura, hesitated, but Andy rushed forward and slapped my dad.

My dad was stunned.

He was a respected figure, former president of the state chamber of commerce, acquainted with many wealthy and influential people.

Now, Andy was stepping on him.

Dad was about to explode, but I pulled him back.

"That's too far! Even hitting Mr. Tang!"

"Mr. Tang is charitable, donating to poor students, families, and building schools. Now, he's being bullied like this!"

"Blame his useless son, a grown man, willing to be a cuckold, letting a woman sit on his head."

"Selling grandpa's land without caring, if I had a useless son like Danny, I'd beat him to death!"

"Those cheaters should be drowned in a pig cage! But now, they're the richest people in the city!…"

People were indignant, pointing fingers at me, shifting the blame to Rain.

"Enough?"

Rain looked around, everyone became wary.

She looked at me. "Danny, are you going to sign or not? Make up your mind!"

"I'll sign."

The divorce agreement was simple, leaving me with only a few thousand dollars, basically leaving me with nothing.

I picked up the pen and signed.

Rain picked it up, her heart settling. She said, "Thank you, Danny, for giving our family a billion-dollar fortune! We can't spend it all in several lifetimes! You're our benefactor!"

Andy raised a glass and drank. "You're my savior! I have to toast you!"

I smiled, thinking, Really? Hope you can laugh until the end!

My dad, looking at their smug faces, seeing the family inheritance taken away, suddenly coughed up blood and collapsed.

He had a bad heart, almost dying when I decided to raise the twins.

"Dad…"

"George…"

My mom and family rushed over, pinching his philtrum and feeding water.

Rain, looking at a beautiful woman helping, said, "Sue, why are you here? You wouldn't be interested in Danny, would you?"

They were friends, both from the country, and Rain always called her a hillbilly.

Sue smiled and didn't reply.

Then, my dad woke up, and they took him to rest.

"Where are the twins?"

"Heard they went to get their college acceptance letters."

Soon, two high school students walked in.

They were a bit overweight, cheerful.

They turned away from me, walking up to Rain. The daughter, Raina, said, "Mom, Andy, we got our acceptance letters!"

Rain put her arms around them and laughed. "From now on, call Andy dad."

"Dad."

"Dad."

The kids I raised were calling someone else dad. It hurt.

Andy laughed. "Good kids, from now on, Dad doesn't have to sneak around at your school."

That's everything available right now.
