Chapter 1

1 I was four months pregnant, and my husband, Mark, accompanied me to pick up my prenatal test results. His smile froze the moment he saw the report. He forcibly pulled me toward the abortion clinic. I stood there, dumbfounded. The doctor had clearly said the fetus was healthy! I broke free from his grasp, demanding, "Why the abortion?!" He didn't answer, but he'd already scheduled the procedure. Seeing me try to run, he grabbed my arm, "This child absolutely cannot be kept!" Protecting my belly, I frantically called my parents, both OB/GYNs. My usually loving father raised his fist to strike my belly. My mother's face was filled with terror, wildly shaking her head, "No, this can't happen." "Let's get a few guys, and keep her with them." I couldn't understand why they wanted to get rid of my child. I wanted to escape. But they locked me in a dark room. Watching the blood flow, I knew my baby was gone. My mother smiled as she came to get me. I desperately questioned why they did this to me. She didn't answer, turning and sending me to a mental hospital. I was tortured to death in the hospital. When I opened my eyes again, I was back at the moment I was about to pick up the prenatal test results.

...

Mark looked at me with a beaming smile, "Honey, this is our first child, I can't wait for the day he's born."

"Come on, honey, the hospital will get crowded later."

Hearing Mark's urging, I snapped back to reality.

Feeling my slightly swollen abdomen, I confirmed I was reborn.

Reborn to the day I was going to get my prenatal test results.

In my past life…

Since I got pregnant, Mark had been extra careful in taking care of my body.

He bought a new thing for the baby every day, even selecting hundreds of names.

The hospital where I had my checkups was his workplace; he even took time off to accompany me.

Mark didn't hide his anticipation and affection for this child.

At four months pregnant, we went for our regular checkup.

After the doctor confirmed the fetus was healthy and ruled out Down syndrome, Mark, also an OB/GYN, glanced at the report.

But his smile froze, his face filled with terror.

Without a word, he grabbed my hand and tried to schedule an abortion.

I was stunned, pulling away, "Mark, isn't everything okay with the baby? Why get rid of it?"

But Mark didn't answer, continuing to schedule the abortion on his phone.

I tried to grab his phone.

He gasped for air, his eyes bloodshot, roaring, "Sarah, this child absolutely cannot be kept!"

I was terrified, my heart pounding, my legs weakening.

While Mark was scheduling the procedure, I quickly messaged my parents.

Mom and Dad arrived quickly.

Seeing them, Mark wasn't nervous at all; a smirk played on his lips.

I cowered in my mom's arms. My dad punched Mark in the face, "A perfectly healthy child, why the abortion?"

Mark remained silent, handing the prenatal report to my dad.

The moment my dad saw it, his anger turned to terror.

His eyes widened, his hands trembling as he held the report.

He raised his fist to strike my belly.

Luckily, Mom shielded me.

The fist landed on Mom instead. Mom yelled, "Are you crazy?!"

"Sarah is carrying your grandchild!"

Dad sneered, handing the report to Mom.

Mom, who had just protected me, looked like she'd seen a ghost, her face ashen.

She pushed me away, frantically shaking her head.

"No, no."

By then I realized something was wrong with the report.

I quickly asked Mom, "Mom, what's wrong? What's wrong with my baby?"

But Mom ignored me, lost in her own emotions.

"This won't work!" She grabbed Dad's hand, "It's too obvious at the hospital. I have an idea."

"Get a few men, and keep Sarah with them."

I froze, numb.

I couldn't understand why they all changed after seeing the report.

But what was going on? Why wouldn't anyone tell me?

As my parents were about to take me away, I turned and ran. But Dad grabbed me.

I cried, begging them to let me go, even just tell me the truth.

They forced me into the car, gagged me.

They locked me in a small room with five naked men!

I was terrified, almost collapsing, banging on the door, begging them to let me out.

But there was no sound from outside.

The men dragged me to the ground. If I resisted, they beat me.

My baby was reduced to a pool of dried blood on the floor.

A week later, Mom, Dad, and Mark came to get me.

Mom smiled, "Sarah, let's go home."

I sneered, wondering how she could act like nothing happened.

I went insane, questioning, "Why? Why did you do this to me?!"

Mom's face suddenly turned cold.

Dad slapped me, "Ungrateful bitch!"

I was stunned.

Then, Mom's sinister gaze pierced me, "Sarah's lost her mind. Let's send her to a mental hospital."

After I was forcibly admitted, Mark sent people to torment me daily.

My once-loving husband wanted me dead.

Three months later, I was tortured to death.

I died without knowing why they wanted to kill me after seeing that report.

The fear from my past life surged. I gently touched my slightly warm abdomen.

I took a deep breath.

This time, I would find out what happened!
