I was about to respond when Serena walked out of the room. She was wearing a thin nightgown that left very little to the imagination.

The sight made my throat go dry.

"Holy hell, Ray. You really are living the dream," Zach whispered, his eyes bulging as he stared.

I cursed under my breath. This guy was a total creep.

Serena noticed Zach's lecherous gaze. Her cheeks turned red as she looked away.

"Um, I'm going to take a shower..." she said, then practically ran into the bathroom.

"Seriously?" I snapped at Zach. "Can you at least try to be subtle?"

Zach didn't even look at me. He was still staring at the bathroom door.

"That body... that skin... I can only imagine..." he muttered to himself.

I felt a surge of anger. Did this guy think I was invisible?

"What are you looking at? That's my woman!" I barked.

Zach finally snapped out of it and chuckled. "Sorry, man. She's just so captivating."

"Captivating, my ass! Just drink your beer!" I snapped, feeling a strange restlessness in my chest.

Maybe it was Zach's words, but I felt a fire starting to burn inside me.

"Wait, we're out of beer. I'll go grab some more," Zach said, standing up suddenly.

I was going to say we had enough, but I needed some fresh air to clear my head.

"I'll go."

I turned and walked out the door.

I grabbed a couple of cold six-packs and hummed a tune as I headed back to the apartment.

As I reached the door, I heard a strange sound coming from inside.

It sounded like... muffled gasping? My heart dropped. No way, would he really be that bold?
