My face was swelling worse by the second, my throat tightening, and my eyes bloodshot.

I stared at him with cold fury and snatched the jar from his hand.

"If I finish this, we are completely over. Leave my family alone, and I will write you a formal promissory note for every penny we owe."

Zack froze for a second, caught off guard. "Is an apology really that hard for you?"

I grabbed a spoon and shoveled huge mouthfuls of peanut butter into my mouth, tears dripping into the jar.

His friends crowded around again, laughing nastily.

"Her face is already blown up like a balloon. What's going to happen now?"

"Is she going to mutate into an alien with two heads? Haha!"

Zack shot them a sharp glare, and they immediately shut their mouths.

I don't know where I found the strength to swallow the entire jar.

My vision blurred, and the last thing I heard was Zack screaming in fury.

"You think this sets you free? Shannon Cole, you will never escape me! You belong to me, dead or alive!"

Right before darkness swallowed me, I saw a tall, dazzling figure rushing toward me.
