Chapter 2

The news of the Yates family's weird son spread quickly thanks to Milo's efforts.

I became the laughingstock of the local elite.

A few days later, the family held a dinner for their business partners.

I was forced to wear a suit and sit at the very end of the table.

During the meal, my uncle Jude spoke up with a fake smile.

"Asher, I heard you learned some skills on the mountain. Why don't you show us a trick and tell someone's fortune?"

Jude was Arthur's brother and a high-level executive in the company.

He looked friendly, but I could see the greed and malice in his eyes.

Milo immediately chimed in, pushing me into the spotlight.

"Yeah, brother. Let us see your talent."

Everyone at the table turned to look at me.

An attractive woman leaning against Milo touched her forehead dramatically.

"Little monk, I've had a headache lately. Can you help me out?"

I glanced at her.

Her face was vibrant, but her eyes were dull, and there was a dark shadow over her features.

It was the sign of a complicated romantic life and an unstable physical state.

I didn't say much.

I pulled out a pre-made protection charm from my pocket and handed it to her.

"Keep this close. It will make you feel better."

The woman took the yellow paper with a look of disgust and tucked it into her purse.

I thought that was the end of it.

But that night, the woman was rushed to the hospital.

She claimed the paper I gave her was toxic and that I had poisoned her.

Milo and Jude immediately used this to attack me in front of Arthur.

"Dad! Look what he did! He's trying to hurt people!"

"Arthur, this is a scandal. We have to handle this before it ruins our reputation!"

Arthur almost fainted from anger.

He pointed at me, unable to speak for a long time.

Finally, he roared a single word.

"Get out!"

I was locked back in the attic and forbidden from seeing anyone.

Arthur probably thought calling the police would be too embarrassing.

I sat in the dark room, feeling perfectly composed.

Fine.

Let's see how much further your stupidity can go.
