Chapter 3

I was locked up for three days.

Finally, I was called down for dinner, but the atmosphere was freezing.

Jude put a piece of meat in my bowl, acting like a saint.

"Asher, have you learned your lesson? Maybe this life isn't for you. I can give you some cash to go back to the mountains."

Milo didn't even hide his mockery.

"How can a fraud even have an appetite? You're shameless."

He reached out, trying to snatch the cloth bag on my lap.

Without even looking up, I flicked my wrist.

A silver needle as thin as a hair sank into his arm silently.

"Ah!"

Milo screamed.

His entire arm went numb and limp instantly, and he dropped his fork.

He looked at me in pure terror, as if he had seen a ghost.

"What… what did you do to me?"

I ignored him and looked at the man sitting across from me.

It was Mr. Kingston, the father of the woman who claimed I poisoned her.

I spoke calmly. "Mr. Kingston, your daughter wasn't poisoned. She's expecting a baby."

"The reaction happened because the pregnancy is unstable."

Mr. Kingston's face turned pale instantly.

I turned to Jude, who was staring at me in shock.

I focused on the space between his eyebrows.

"Uncle, your energy is dark. There's a violent shadow over you."

"At midnight tonight, you will face a bloody disaster."

"I suggest you stay away from cars and sharp metal objects tonight."

"Nonsense!" Jude snapped, his face darkening. "You arrogant brat!"

Mr. Kingston couldn't sit still anymore.

He gave me a suspicious look and hurried out to make a phone call.

Arthur sat there with a black face, saying nothing.

The dinner ended in disaster.

Milo's arm stayed numb until the very end, and he had to be carried back to his room.

I slowly finished my meal.

I wondered if they would still be screaming at me when the real storm arrived.
