Chapter 1

At the annual company gala raffle, I walked up onto the stage.

My supervisor, Garrett Cole, suddenly shoved a crumpled piece of paper into my hand.

"Here is the exclusive prize for our top sales champion! Open it up and show everyone!"

Under the expectant gaze of the entire room, I unfolded the paper.

Scrawled across it in messy handwriting were the words: Clean all company restrooms for three days.

Amid bursts of roaring laughter, Garrett crossed his arms and smirked at me.

"Pretty generous, right? After all, everyone knows your sales numbers came from sleeping with wealthy older women."

"To keep other employees from feeling it is unfair, you get to work a little overtime while everyone else is on holiday. You would not complain about that, would you?"

The hall erupted in mockery.

My CEO girlfriend, Savannah Price, witnessed the entire scene beside us.

Just like always, she did not say a single word to defend me.

Just when everyone expected me to break down in furious tears, I simply nodded with a calm expression.

The very next morning, the company received cancellation requests for over three hundred property contracts.

The cash flow collapsed in an instant.

Garrett and Savannah frantically begged me to plead with the buyers.

I just smiled and replied, "No thanks. If I recover those losses, my sales record will be too high, and everyone might feel resentful again."

Hearing me accept the punishment, the banquet hall fell silent for a brief second before erupting into even louder laughter.

Garrett laughed the hardest, clutching his stomach with tears welling in his eyes.

"See why he is our top seller? You need ridiculously thick skin to pull that off!"

I ignored his petty sarcasm and spoke calmly.

"There is just one condition I need to make clear. Since the company assigned me the privilege of cleaning the restrooms, that will be my sole duty for the next three days. I will not handle any other company business."

Garrett froze for a moment, clearly caught off guard by my bizarre demand.

It was the end of the fiscal year, and all sales quotas had been shattered thanks to my tireless efforts.

All that remained was for the clients to complete their final mortgage processing to close the deals.

Refusing to handle sales now was practically handing millions of dollars in commissions directly over to him.

Assuming I had lost my mind from pure rage, Garrett nodded without hesitation.

"Sure! No sales work for you then. You are not the only person in the sales department. Do you really think Price Properties cannot run without you?"

"Spend these next few days scrubbing toilets. If I find a single stray hair on that floor, consider yourself fired!"

I said nothing more and turned to walk away.

Taking out my phone, I quickly sent a message into my VIP client group chat.

"Dear clients, I am currently facing a job reassignment. If you trust me, please temporarily hold off on your final mortgage payments and await my next update."

The moment I tapped send, a text from Savannah flashed across my screen.

"Come to my office right now. We need to talk."

I tossed my phone aside and acted like I had never seen it.

We fell in love back in college.

After graduation, Savannah begged me repeatedly until I gave up a six-figure corporate offer to help her build her startup from scratch.

She always promised that once the company hit a hundred million dollars in total sales, we would officially get married.

I foolishly believed her promises and poured my soul into the business, only to receive constant neglect and humiliation in return.

Garrett had only been at the company for three months, and his numbers were not even a fraction of mine.

Yet Savannah bypassed me entirely to make him the Sales Director simply because she valued his so-called Ivy League background and overseas experience.

Meanwhile, as the three-time reigning sales champion, my reward was three days of scrubbing toilets.

Under the mocking and pitying stares of the entire office, I walked into the janitorial closet and put on cleaning gear.

Just as I picked up a mop bucket, a voice snapped from behind me.

"Lucas, stop right there!"
