Chapter 2

"Liam, listen to my explanation."

Clara's face was a bit pale.

"This child was an accident from back then. I was afraid to tell you, so I kept it from you."

"But aren't you rich now? Raising one more child is nothing."

Hearing her words, it felt like a piece of my heart had been gouged out.

This child was really hers.

I suddenly felt my existence was laughable.

We had been married for four years. Only this year did she get pregnant with my child. I thought we would soon live a happy life as a family of three.

But now she tells me she has a daughter outside and wants me to accept her.

I am soft-hearted and easy to talk to, but I have my bottom line.

"Clara, what do you take me for?"

I suppressed my emotions and spoke.

"A recycling bin for garbage? Sending everything my way."

"No, it's just that this child has been wandering outside for too long, and I am her biological mother. I can't just ignore her."

"It just so happens I'm pregnant. Isn't it good for our child to have an older sister?"

Her words fell clearly into my ears.

The woman I once loved to death now made me feel nothing but hatred and extreme disgust.

Friends and relatives nearby were all watching us like a joke.

I tried hard to suppress my anger, ignored Clara, and walked up to the stage step by step.

I picked up the microphone and sneered: "Today is the divorce banquet for me and Clara. Everyone, eat and drink well."

As soon as these words came out, Clara's pupils shrank.

She hurriedly tried to get on stage, but I turned and went backstage, retching uncontrollably by the trash can.

Clara and I have been married for four years!

We were together day and night, slept in the same bed every day, and did all the intimate things.

I thought we would definitely grow old together.
