Chapter 2 Escape part 2
It had been 2 days since Catharina was caught.
To be more precise, ever since she was put into the prison that was located under Pack's mansion before. To Catharina's surprise, she wasn't being interrogated like she heard Rogues were trespassing. She was only given 1 meal, and even then it was only bread and a glass of water. Catharina still ate it voraciously as if it were the world's best food, regardless of that she was probably used to it. Even with that attitude, it was as if saying this was much better, than eating nothing at all.
At the far end of the prison south of these cells, there are several guards. They were seen gathered around a small table with playing cards and a few glass bottles filled with liquor in their left hands. There are two contrasting views in this place, while the guards are immersed in worldly pleasures, there are some inmates in the prison who seem to be suffering or maybe they are gnawing at it one-sidedly, very thin. Catharina really felt what it was like to be in a prisoner position. It's not food that they need, but getting out of this damned prison. A comforting freedom, beyond the drink you find after being deceived by many unpromising mirages.
"It's useless."
Catharina was taken aback, the voice that suddenly startled her came from behind her. As a result of being dissolved in her daydreams, she doesn't realize that she is not alone in this cell. That figure, when one looked more closely, was that of a woman who had been silent all along and now suddenly let out a voice.
"Why did you come in here?" asked the woman. Her voice sounded dry, like hee skin was unhealthy. Her looked skinny and not well maintained. Even so, Catharina liked how the woman's blonde hair looked beautiful when it was exposed to a slight bias of the moon from the tiny window above them. Oh, that's such a delicious cream, thought Catharina. Basic Catharina, that innocent girl's mind certainly doesn't go far from food. Not knowing what to answer, Catharina simply replied, "I also don't know."
The woman on the opposite side looked at Catharina for a moment then sniffed the air. She smelled of dirt and pine, and the smell of something that had just been charred.
"Rogues?"
Rogue is a term for any werewolves who don't follow the Pack. They live freely outside of any Pack's territory. There are no regulations binding them. So there are not a few who form groups to have bad intentions such as hunting or plundering which are considered illegal and not according to Pactum—a kind of ancestral agreement that has been agreed upon by the highest ranks and the official stamp of the Werewolf King—the latest revision.
However, just as a coin has two sides, not all Rogues exude negativity. Those who are pure from sincerity want to live alone, or with their families. Even though it was difficult, because Rogue did not have the right to protection because there was no Pack under her shelter, there were still werewolves in this condition.
"Yes," Catharina replied. "Which pack are you from?"
Catharina looked at the woman in confusion.
"There isn't any."
"You've been living as a Rogue all this time?"
the woman asked with surprise painted on her face.
"I don't know either," Catharina answered. She was seized by a feeling of dizzying confusion.
Of course, because before that he wasn't from any Pack. Nothing wrong with the answer, right?
The woman looked at Catharina as if she had found a jungle girl who had stumbled on people's territory. Or is that actually the case? Indeed, nothing is a problem with Catharina's appearance and aura. The girl only looked, calm down, that's the problem. That is to say, which creature is still calm when she is caught, put in a dirty prison where unsightly sights are displayed, and don't forget the punishment that awaits ahead.
Assumptions swirled in the woman's head for a long time, to the point that she didn't realize that she made Catharina uncomfortable with her detailed gaze.
Finally Catharina decided to ask.
"What is the name of this pack?"
“Blue Moon Pack. One of the rather small territories of the northern part."
"One of?" Beo is an innocent girl.
"Oh, I don't want to talk about this."
The woman shifted uneasily.
"You know the north... is almost overrun by that Alpha."
Serious! She did not want to chat about the issue. This issue has been hot since Alpha, who she dared not mention his name, took the position of leader of a large Pack in Asia. Even though the Alpha territory was miles away from where she was, but still she felt as if all ears were around her and made the woman have to keep her mouth shut.
Again, because she didn't know what to say, Catharina only nodded.
"Why did you come in here?" Now it's Catharina's turn to ask about the woman.
Unexpectedly, Catharina received a grunt response from her. Which gave an indication that this question was inviting irritation from the woman.
"First, call me Jolley. Second, I'm from this Pack."
Catharina frowned disapprovingly. I mean, how could that be?
"I'm punished."
Jolley answers Catharina's unspoken questions.
Now Catharina's face is fondled by curiosity that makes her face funny and she can't hide it, that is printed so clearly that Jolley felt like she was reading a book plain as it is.
"Err, that's because I intend to get out of this Pack," explained Jolley. It seemed he was she at a loss as to how to explain the situation. She himself had never told anyone about this.
In response, Catharina's eyes went wide as if what Jolley was doing was taboo.
"Well, don't look at me like that. This pack is not what you imagined, what's your name?"
"Catharina," Catharina replied shyly like a pubescent girl who secretly learns what a rubber condom does.
Oh, he doesn't know why he's suddenly shy. Is it because this is the first time someone has asked her name?
"Ah yes, Catharina. This Alpha pack is one hell of a brat," said Jolley looking up at the ceiling of the dungeon. Her fists clenched, and the emotion of hatred couldn't escape Catharina's attention.
Jolley really, really hated his Alpha—oh no, I mean that bastard—who had taken his lecherous lust on one of his maids, who was Jolley's childhood friend.
Jolley turned, fixing his gaze with the innocent girl.
"The Alpha right now is still young. Unlike the previous Alpha, he's not good at taking care of his Packs at all. All he does is play around with Omega.
"Playing?" asked Catharina confused.
How come an Alpha can play around with an Omega? Isn't Omega too low to be compared to Alpha? How can they play? Does an Alpha really have that spare time playing around?
"Playing around here means he's playing with lots of girls."
When She saw that Catharina still didn't understand, it felt like Jolley wanted to pull her hair out in frustration.
"He slept with many women."
Catharina still didn't understand why it was called playing games, because she herself had slept with many women when she was in her previous confinement.
“Ugh, sex! He likes having sex, you know, right?” Jolley made an embarrassing gesture. You know how? Insert the index finger of her right hand into the circle she made with the thumb and left index hand. She carries out the movement by understanding her role well, like a Biology teacher who enthusiastically explains how the process of two reproductive systems meet and fertilizes. The situation would have plunged into the abyss of embarrassment if Catharina still didn't understand it again.
"Okay I understand. Please stop it!"
It was aimed at Jolley's non-stop movement of his hand. Oh by the moon goddess! Catharina covered her eyes with both hands, hiding the blush that adorned her face and spread to her ear lobes.
There were footsteps that indicated more than one person was approaching in his cell. Then came Joe, the Beta from the Blue Moon Pack who brought Catharina with him. His face that didn't show any expression was actually a mask he had trained on since he was young. It didn't just apply to him, all the High Rankers in the world were familiar with poker face because it was a small trick so that the opponent couldn't read or even fool his mind.
It's just that this time, the difference between the man's appearance and the first time they met was because Joe was now wearing blue knee-length shorts.
Joe is not alone there. Someone was standing straight beside her, but unfortunately Catharina's eyes couldn't see that person because it was partly covered by the prison walls.
"Who, Joe?" It sounded deep and arrogant.
"It's been a long time since we had guests."
"The Trespasser this time may have accidentally stepped in due to an accident, Alpha."
Wait, Alpha? Catharina, who was listening to their conversation, was immediately overcome with panic. Even Jolley flinched from her sitting position. She didn't expect that bastard would come down to the dungeon to see his prisoner.
"Oh?" Alpha, known by her name as Alpha Heidi, was even curious after hearing a drop of emotion waft from Joe. Was that beta seeking defense for a bunch of captives? Very funny. That means there's definitely something unique about Rogue this time around.
"She runs very fast and has white fur, Alpha." Joe finally said it.
He has no other choice if he himself doesn't want to be brainwashed by Alpha. With that sentence out, he seemed to be hoping Heidi would have a negative response.
Remembering that the White Wolf has a story about their identity that says it is a symbol of a curse or bad luck even though it has special powers.
Alpha Heidi looked taken aback. white wolves?
But no. Joe apparently found Heidi to have the opposite response. Oh, this is so damn. Now he felt sorry for the White Wolf's wretched fate.
Jolley, who had heard their conversation, couldn't help but also be surprised. She looked back at Catharina's back and thought, this girl is a White Wolf?
Joe gave Heidi a concerned look. No, no. She wasn't worried about Alpha, but what Alpha Heidi would do to the White Wolf. To be a sex slave? It feels like nothing worse than that.
Heidi gave a devilish smile. "Joe, I'm not going to do anything. And how many times do I have to say, call my name when we're alone."
Doesn't that sound humbling for an Alpha? Unless it was delivered in a sarcastic tone and had a specific intention.
Joe lowered his head.
"No, Alpha."
He wouldn't do it, for any reason. Heidi had always been his childhood friend, but Alpha had changed since she hit puberty. He becomes a 'destroyer', and Joe hates him.
Alpha Heidi clucked angrily, but Joe's decision remained unchanged. Heidi for him is just an Alpha. If only Beta wasn't his bloodline, he definitely wouldn't want to be side by side with Heidi as his Alpha.
"I want to see it."
Joe retreats, and Alpha Heidi approaches the prison where Catharina is locked up. He couldn't wait. Several plans, which are certainly not far from cunning words, have been arranged in his head.
