Chapter 2 It all begins

Spider's location..........

They tip-toed along the hallway leading to spider's room and almost immediately, gunshots rang out...

Groans are heard! someone has been shot.

"Vicky!"xoxo called in a whispering tone. He couldn't risk raising his voice.

"Vicky!"he called again but, everywhere remained dead silent except,the low groans being heard.

He rushed towards the direction the groans were coming from, and there he sat, with his hands hovering around his shot leg.

"ple...ase he..lp me.. Xoxo..o. don't leave me here."he groaned out painfully.

"I won't! can you at least stand up?"he asked, trying to support him up to his feet.

"I can..t! Just do something.."he roared out in pain.

Xoxo tore the hem of his shirt, and tied it around the injured area. He lifted him up with one of his hands around his shoulders.

They turned, walking to the exit of the hallway with Xoxo supporting Vicky's movement.

They came into the opening, and kept running, walking out of the premises.

"Gosh! I am tired, Vic. let's rest a little."Xoxo said, breathing heavily as he laid Vicky on the ground.

"There they are....get them!!" A voice suddenly rang out and footsteps followed immediately.

"No, no!" this is not good.let's go!" Xoxo sprang up and tried carrying Vicky.

"The..y will cat..ch us Xo..xo."Vicky shuttered in a frightened tone.

Xoxo looked behind them and dread filled him. The people were closing up on them and he couldn't run with vicky.

"I can't risk my life for his. I can't!" he thought inwardly with his head moving sideways.

"I can't go with you Vicky. I'm sorry!"he muttered and took off in a speed race.

"Don't leave me, please..."Vicky pleaded in a teary tone but it Was already too late.

"Who do we have here?"Spider asks in a mocking tone and a grin on his face.

"The son of zanky!"he said spitefully. I'd have loved to keep you as my captive but, I want to hurt zanky where he least expected." Spider groaned with his fist clenched.

"I wo..nt beg f..or my l..ife, Ki..ll me! but re..member, my dad will find you and wast.....

"Shut up!!!" Spider roared.

"Who does he think he is?his nothing! I will bring him down to his knees."he smirked evilly.

"That's...if y..ou ca....

His words were cut short as gunshots rang out twice. he laid dead on the ground with his eyes widely opened.

Xoxo ran through the darkness of the night. The moment his eyes collided with his parked car beside the road side, he couldn't help the joy that filled his beating heart.

He quickly hops inside his car after unlocking it and heaves a huge sigh of relief as he ignites the engine and drives off into the dark street without a back glance.

The drive all through the dark road was a crazy one. But then, Xoxo's thoughts were filled with thought about his daughter. He felt so afraid of losing his only child.

Right now, he dreads the outcome of tonight's incident. He fears if he could protect her from any harm.

He was still deep in thought when he saw the headlight of a car behind him at such a late hour. His instinct quickly kicked in and he stepped harder on the Accelerator and the car behind him, increasing his pace.

Xoxo's hands on the wheel were all sweaty. Instead of the shorter route to his house, he decides to take the longest one as he keeps on searching for a way to get away from his chasers.

The chasers were almost catching up with him and Xoxo knew it was only a matter of a few minutes before they overtakes him and then captured him.

He suddenly steps harder on the Accelerator and makes a U-turn to the other side of the road. The chasers weren't aware of this, just before they could step on the brakes of the car, they ran into the bricks that were used in demarcating the road and the car summersaulted.

Xoxo heaved a deep sigh of relief as he saw their car turned upside down at the other side of the road. He drove crazily inside his compound until he got down from the car and stormed inside his house.

It was past 4am in the morning when his eyes ran into the wall clock in his living room. Xoxo felt now was the right time to achieve his earlier plan.

He made for Sassy's room and began knocking heavily on her room door. He didn't have the patience to be all gentle and calm in front of Sassy right now. He wasn't in the right State of mind. but then, he couldn't delay anymore.

Sassy in her end, was coiled up into a ball on her bed. She was feeling all frightened at the Sudden knock on her room door at such an hour of the morning. Her dad wasn't an option to her right now, She knew her father had never knocked on her room door in such a manner.

She got closer to the door and tried piping through the hole but couldn't see the person's face clearly. She breathed in and out as she made a decision to unlock the door before the person broke it down.

The moment she unlocked the door, the person pushed the door and made his way in. Sassy immediately raised up the table leg and tried hitting him with it but Xoxo caught it in the air before it could get to him.

"Hey, relax baby. It's daddy." Xoxo quickly said. Sassy realizing it was indeed her dad, instantly flung herself into his arms.

"Dad, I was so.. scared. I almost peed on myself out of fright." Sassy cooed still in his arms.  "I'm sorry for scaring you that way baby. But baby, I've got something to tell you." Xoxo says after a while of trying to break such news to his daughter.

"What's it Dad?" Sassy asks as she disengaged from the hug and was now staring at her dad.

"The thing is, something came up and we have to relocate the house right now." Xoxo finally dropped the bombshell. Sassy was gobsmacked at her father's words. How could he even think of this? This has always been her home and it's filled with alot of memories. She doesn't ever wanna leave.

"What do you mean by we are leaving dad? I'm not leaving this house no matter what, dad! You can go wherever you want alone while I stay here. After all, it has always been just me alone In this house." She yelled with tears threatening to drop down her cheek.

"I'm not just saying this Sassy, I'm ordering you. Whatever I'm doing right now, it's for your f**king good! Go pack your bags right this minuteor or I might end up bundling you into the car!" Xoxo says through gritted teeths and storms out of her room to get a few of his own things in his room.

It wasn't an easy one to get Sassy out of their previous house. She was so adamant that he had to apply force in order for Zanky's men not to get to them.

Zanky expected him to die for his son, not the other way around. But, why would he risk his life to safe Zanky's son while, he has his own daughter who is deligently waiting for him to return home and back to her?

Xoxo knows Zanky is gonna do anything to get him but till then, he needs to make sure of his daughter's safety. That's the most important to him right now than any other thing.
