Chapter 3 Running away

Zanky tried having his rest but then, this weird feeling kept nudging him and sleep became far fetched from him. He stood up from his bed with just his shorts and made his way to his balcony.

He turned on his phone to check up on his son and almost immediately, Fred his personal bodyguards call came in.

Zanky quickly picked up the call without hesitating for a moment.

"Boss Zanky, something bad had happened" Fred anxious voice was heard from the other end of the phone.

A deep frown Immediately circulated Zanky's face. That wasn't what he was hoping to hear.

" What's going on?" He questioned, trying his best to keep calm and get to know what was happening.

"Boss, it's your son Vicky." Fred said again, he just didn't know how to pass out such a painful news to his boss.

"What the hell happened to my son? Get to the point, Fred!" Zanky snapped into the phone, his patience flewing out of the windows in a hurry.

"He is dead, Boss! Spider shot him severally on his chest. Vicky is no more, Boss." Fred let it all out in a pained voice.

Zanky could feel all of his whole body shivering. It's a miracle his phone didn't slip off his hold.

He was shock and confused at the same time. It tooked everything in him not to slam his phone against the wall in pain and anger.

Vicky was his only child! The child that was to take over his clan and properties once he is gone… He had made sure to put in all of his efforts in training him to be cold hearted and a fighter.

How could he lose him in such a cruel way?

He tried to gather his emotions and keep his anger in check as he asked " What happened to Xoxo? Is he also dead?" Zanky asked, hoping he could be indeed dead else, there would be a great chaos.

" Boss Zanky, we couldn't find Xoxo's body around the scene. I guess he survived and escaped from spider's boys."Fred uttered.

Zanky Immediately scoffed and punched the wall in anger. All of his body vibrating.

" Xoxo can't be alive while, my son is dead, Fred! He needs to go down and join my son!" Zanky snapped out, his eyes looking all red and bloodshot as he stared into space.

" What would you want us to do now Boss? We are at your berk and call." Fred uttered, awaiting Zanky's command.

" I need you to send out the boys to go find him. I don't care about where he is hiding. If he is hiding in a well, in a hole or in a ground, I need you to uproot him out! He has to pay for the death of my son!" Zanky roared. He just couldn't feel himself anymore. It's more like, his whole world was falling apart at the death of his only child.

"We would track him down, Boss." Fred uttered and was about ending the call when, Zanky's voice stopped him.

" I heard Xoxo has a beautiful daughter, right?" Zanky asked, his eyes having an evil glint. The thought of Xoxo's daughter made his belly swell in fulfilment.

" Yes Boss. I heard she's always home alone." Fred added, while wondering why his boss was asking after Xoxo's daughter.

Zanky smirked knowing that was a great opportunity for him.

" Good! I need you to send some of the boys over to Xoxo's house to capture her before Xoxo thinks of arriving at home to save her sorry ass." Zanky uttered, his voice coming out more Icy than before.

Fred was taken aback by his Boss's order. He wasn't expecting his Boss to involve Xoxo's daughter in such a critical matter between his Boss and Xoxo. But then, he couldn't go against his Boss's order.

" I will quickly inform the boys, Boss Zanky" Fred uttered and finally the call got disconnected by Zanky who was staring murderously into space.

* "Sweetheart,baby...."Sassy heard a faint voice calling from her sleep, together with a soft tap on her bare shoulders due to her singlet hand night wear.

She knitted her brows into a frown and forced her heavy eyes open. She had cried herself to sleep and now, her eyes were looking all puffy.

She hissed spitefully and turned her back to him, and it was her dad.

"I'm heading out for a while, make sure you don't go out. There's food in the kitchen and if you don't like it, you can cook what you need. Everything I know you like are all in the kitchen."he intoned as he tries placing a kiss on her cheek.

Almost immediately, Sassy breath out in relief and sat up straight on her bed. She picked up her phone from the headboard, and dialled her best friend's number.

It rang only once before it beeped indicating the person from the other end has answered the call.

"Hey, crazy girl; where have you been??" Kim asked crankily. "You had missed our lesson class yesterday and I had to check up on you at your house, but it was locked."she said all in one breath.

" Just breathe Kim,okay? I'll tell you all about it." Sassy said with a sigh.

"Then start talking,dumb head! We Don't have the f**king whole day."Kim implored with a roll of her slightly big sexy eyes.

" I can't say everything right here, Kim. Let's meet at the bookshop."Sassy suggested the first thing that came to her head. She needs some fresh air and by going out.

"Are the words that much that you just can't say it over the phone? Gosh, I'm about getting choked by curiousity but, I can wait for few more minutes so, Start preparing now! you and I knows you're such a tortoise."Kim uttered sasily which earned an eye roll from Sassy.

******* Zanky stepped down from his 2020 mini Cooper BMW AG after it was opened by one of his boys.

He came down gracefully, his hair covering one part of his eye. he wore a black T-shirt, a black pants and a matte black timberland boots to match it up.

Zanky walked in adroitly into one of his warehouse in steady steps.

"Boss,the distributors are in your office waiting for you." one of his boys guiding the building spoke out with his head bowed.

"And why are they waiting? ain't they supposed to deliver my goods and get the f**k off my building?"he said outraged.

"Umm boss, the..re's a little pro..blem."he mumbled stuttering a little bit.

"What's that?"he questioned with a knitted brows.

"It'll be more best if they inform you themselves, boss."he petrified with his head still down not minding the burning gaze on him.

Zanky stared at him for sometime, without saying a word and the poor guy was shaken visibly thinking,he has probably upset him with his words.

Almost immediately, his phone rang distructing him.

He stared at the caller's name and without excitation, he picked up the call.

"Any news?" he asked immediately he place the phone on his left ear.

"Yes, boss."Joe beamed out.

"Then go on! I don't have all day."Zanky command impatiently.
