Chapter 2
I don't have any time to explain the situation to my manager. I just sent him a message saying I need him in my house ASAP, because there's an emergency.
The kids were asleep when I left them, I'm sure if my manager saw them he would overthink who the kids were in my room.
I couldn't shake off this uneasiness I feel inside my house. I feel unsafe. Just thinking that someone entered my house without my knowledge made me feel scared.
I don't want to tell Mama because she will definitely send me body guards or force me to live in our house again. That would be no good, especially when I have kids I have to take in.
I have enough reason to question that bartender. I'm sure someone drove me home last night, but what's confusing is that my car is also in my house.
Did I grope that bartender to get my key? Wait. How did he know my address? Was he the one who messed up my CCTVs?
After I parked my car, I stormed inside the establishment with an anxious heart. This building has multiple rooms for guests, the upper floors are for staying in customers while the ground floor is a restaurant (in the morning) or bar (in the evening).
I don't know if they are already serving hard l!quors since it's only 5 o'clock in the afternoon but it doesn't seem like they are yet because I don't see any bartenders inside.
"Excuse me, Miss. I know it's still early but I have to talk with one of your bartenders. I just have something to ask him." I said to the waitress after I ordered their desserts and drinks. He was stunned by me for a moment, as if he recognized me. Sh*t. What if I get a blind item?
Sinech itey? Aspiring actress looking for macho bartender "S-I'm sorry, Ma'am. The bartenders used to come at night until the early morning because it was their shift, but I know there are bartenders on the upper floors, but the only ones available are the ones assigned to entertain VIPs." Fortunately, the waitress was a professional so after I ate and paid the bill, I gave her enough tip.
After I reached the second floor, I asked the front desk lady.
"Excuse me, may I reserve one of your available rooms and ask for a specific bartender to serve your drinks?" The woman narrowed her eyes at me and observed me. He must have noticed that I was not familiar with his eyes.
"Do you have a VIP card with you, Ma'am?" Sh*t. I don't have
"I'm sorry. I forgot my VIP card, but I'm friends with the owner of the bar so..." which is a lie.
We stared at the woman for a long time before she sighed. I'm sweating bullets here, did he notice I was lying?
"I'm sorry, Ma'am. We can't provide you the exclusive services you want if you can't present your VIP card-"
"What are you talking about, Loisa? Didn't you hear her? She's my friend." A sweet-sounding voice suddenly interrupted our conversation. When I turned to him, I saw an unfamiliar man holding a huge white rabbit in his arms. I didn't know rabbits could be that big.
He's wearing a formal black coat with button down shirt inside paired with black slacks and leather shoes. He's as pale as white paper like vampires in movies.
D*mn. He's handsome.
D*mn. He's handsome. Is he the owner?
"If that's what you said, then room 106 is available." She said as she handed me the room's spare key. "No need for that. I'll bring you to my room." The man slapped again while rubbing the rabbit on his arm. The front desk lady and I met her with the same eyebrows.
"I'm not interested in what you're thinking, Sir." When I refused him he just sneered.
"Come on, don't sir me. We're friends remember?" The woman looked at the two of us and sat back in her chair and returned to her work.
I think everyone who works here has attitude and anger issues except for the waitress I talked to earlier.
Although hesitating, I still followed the man. We enter the elevator and it goes to the last floor of the building.
"May I know your intentions for covering up my lie?" He just laughed while his full attention was still on his rabbit. Even though I was distracted.
"What are you talking about? I love making friends." I suffered because of him. I know he's lying.
"If you don't want to answer my question, could you at least tell me why we are heading to your room?"
"What do you think?" He playfully asked.
"I hope not because of some perverted reasons." I answered him with a grimace which made him laugh. This man likes to laugh. It doesn't suit his dark aura.
The elevator opened and we stopped in front of the only room on this floor.
"A hunter once told me, from all kinds of prey, rabbits are his favorite. When I asked him why, his answer was simple... rabbits love to play feisty, they easily forget that they are prey animals."
"What's that supposed to mean?" I asked nervously.
"That's for the hunter to explain." I was just surprised when the door opened behind me and he pushed me inside.
I heard a clicking sound. The door is now locked from the outside.
Cold crawled through my body. I don't see a single light or light inside the room. I groped along the wall next to the door to find the switch, but before I could hit it, hands grabbed my waist.
He's wearing a white robe which exposed his broad chest and gave more emphasis of his tan skin. Now that I'm sober enough to observe his facial features, I can't help but stare at those deep forest green eyes, flickering as if I'm watching fresh leaves bloom after winter.
With clenched jaw, his eyes darkened.
I don't know what I expected him to do, but he just turned his back on me and went straight to the bathroom.
Was he mad? Did I bite him too hard? He deserved it! I should be angry with him!
Wait. Why am I still lying?
I felt ashamed and embarrassed. Why did I stay lying on the bed as if I was waiting for him to come to me? I immediately covered my face as if they could do something to get rid of the shame I felt.
I left the bed and sat on the sofa.
Now that it was bright, I noticed that the room was spacious, but without any decorations or furnishings, except for the bed, sofa, and couch. I even went around the other part of it and saw that there was also a kitchen, the equipment there was complete as if the owner was skilled in cooking.
The area is spacious but there are no items. As soon as you open the door, you will be greeted immediately. Just have a bed, sofa, and couch. Since this is the last and highest floor of this building, I thought it would have the most exquisite and expensive looking room.
"You really waited for me."
Of course. How can I escape if the door is locked from the outside?
I heard footsteps behind me. But I don't want to face him. He's a pervert! Maybe he has no clothes!
"W-We need to talk." I stammered, still turning my back on him.
"Then talk while facing me." He demanded. I could feel his grin when he said that. His face is thick, he doesn't even have any shame left in his body or even dignity. My hands are shaking!
Soon I heard his footsteps approaching me. I signaled him to stop approaching me but of course he doesn't know how to listen.
I breathed deeply. I will remain innocent no matter what I find unpleasant.
I slowly faced him. My eyes widened in surprise. He's not n@ked. I don't know how to describe this feeling. Disappointment? Relieved? Annoyed?
Disappointment? No.
He's wearing blue terno pajamas with cute rabbit prints. Her hair fell as she dried it with a towel with carrot prints. He's grinning while watching me intently go through 5 stages of disappointment.
I can't accept that the pajama suit with rabbit prints is his thing.
"Did I perhaps ruin your imagination?" He teased. "I'm not a pervert like someone who couldn't keep his hands to himself." He just laughed his @ss off as if he was still proud of what he did.
"Well, it can't be helped. I thought you're one of our VIPs."
I averted my eyes from him. So, he's used to it. Then I don't have to feel this way since it was my fault entering without his permission or I could just blame his boss for this.
I quietly sat on his sofa and motioned him to sit on the couch in front of him.
"Let's talk about what happened last night."
He just watched me silently. Waiting for what I have to say.
"Were you the one who drove me home?" I asked him but there was a hint of accusation in my voice.
"So, this is an interrogation. I see." I want his face to fall apart! Earlier he was smiling as if he was playing with me. "Just answer my question."
"I'm sorry to burst your bubbles, but my job description does not include driving customers home."
"Well, my friend told me he saw a bartender carrying me last night." Which is a total lie.
"So, you're hooking up with another bartender." His hands are covering his mouth, acting so surprised. He's too dramatic. He should have just acted in his own way.
"He's belonging to you obviously!" My voice is getting louder, I'm h!gh bl0od too.
"Those are just baseless @ccusations. With so many bartenders here, why should I lift you up?"
"Because you had a bad plan for me last night!" I was blushing with shame and anger while he was just smiling while watching me almost overcome with annoyance.
"Oh... like?" He shamelessly looked at my body. "What made you assume things like that?"
"You drugged my drink last night!"
"I didn't. You were just drunk."
I calmed myself down. This is not what I came here for.
"I don't have time for this. I need to know who drove me home last night. Was it you?"
"I didn't."
"I see. I hope you're not lying." I stood up from the seat. "I have to go now. Thank you for answering my questions."
"Not so fast." He barricaded himself in the front door. My forehead furrowed. What else does this bartender want?
"You have to pay for my accommodation service." Help me, Lord. My hand hurts, I don't think it will get better until I hit this man.
My hands were shaking as I took money out of my wallet. I might slap him by accident.
"Here." I gave him money.
"This is not the payment I wanted and you also forgot to tip me last night."
"How much do I have to pay then?" I was running out of patience to ask him.
"I don't need money. I'll tell you what I want when I think of one." He took my hand and put the money I handed him earlier.
"No. I'd rather pay you with money." I'm stubborn.
"Six." I frowned at him. "Don't pay me. Just remember the name you'll mo@n when I bed you, rabbit." I heard a clicking sound. The door is now unlocked.
