In the afternoon, I arrived back at the sales center. I saw Piper sitting comfortably at my desk. She had a look of unconcealed pride on her face.

When the boss saw me, he put on a strict business face. "Blair, since you let Piper handle your contracts, she will use your desk. Consider this an official handover."

I shrugged my shoulders and replied calmly. "Sure, no problem."

A moment later, a new client walked into the center. He headed straight toward my desk.

Piper immediately stood up and greeted him with deep enthusiasm. Their conversation seemed to be going very smoothly.

Mr. Thorne stood to the side and made a sarcastic remark. "Blair, do not think you are the only capable one here. Look how well Piper is handling this deal."

Soon, Piper finished signing the paperwork. Everyone clapped and shouted praises to flatter her. "Amazing job! She truly is our rising star!"

Piper looked incredibly smug. She copied my usual habit and smiled brightly. "I am treating everyone to iced coffees today, so place your orders!"

A group of people happily listed their drinks. They intentionally left me out completely.

Right at that moment, the client heard the cheering. He smiled and decided to chime in. "You guys have a great atmosphere here. Everyone is so nice to Blair!"

The boss quickly tried to explain with a forced smile. "Oh, our teamwork is just really good. Blair's clients are currently being handled by Piper."

"Piper?" The client looked a little confused.

"Oh, that is the young lady who just helped you."

The client frowned deeply and spoke decisively. "Oh, then I am not signing this. I came here specifically to work with Blair on this deal."

Mr. Thorne looked totally stunned. "Is it not all the same?"

Piper also hurried over to speak to him. "Are you dissatisfied with my service in any way?"

The client looked annoyed and replied flatly. "I am not dissatisfied. But someone specifically told me to only look for Blair this time. If she is not handling it, the contract is void."

All the colleagues standing nearby went completely quiet. Some looked at each other, not knowing what to say.

The manager's face instantly turned dark and gloomy. Piper looked extremely embarrassed and glared at me in pure anger. She was so mad that she could not speak a word.

At that moment, a coworker whispered awkwardly. "So... are we still getting those coffees?"

Looking at Piper's pale and angry face, I could not help but laugh out loud.
