Chapter 3
3.
Just as I felt like I was going to pass out, Sienna let go and kicked me onto the floor.
"Do you really think Jaxon is playing a game with you?"
"Take a good listen to this."
She pulled out her phone and played a recording.
Jaxon's lazy, arrogant voice filled the room.
"Willa knows my voice and my body. If I stay here, she'll definitely find me."
"So, I'm not staying at the club. Whoever wants to play with her, go ahead. I'm off to see my little side-piece."
In that moment, my heart felt like it had been shredded into pieces.
So, this was what he really thought of me.
Sienna slapped me hard across the face.
"Did you hear that? He doesn't love you. You're just a toy to him!"
She laughed and threw her phone into the sink, then forced a whole bottle of vodka down my throat.
"You're not getting out of this club tonight, haha!"
She and the others walked out, leaving me there.
I was slumped in the corner, soaked to the bone. My dress was clinging to me, and my head began to spin from the alcohol.
Outside, people were still calling my name.
I felt sick to my stomach.
I shook my head, trying to stay conscious. I crawled out and started running because I was terrified of being caught.
I could feel several men chasing me from behind.
My heart was racing so fast I thought it would explode. I dove into an elevator.
I squeezed into the corner, eyes closed, shaking violently.
The elevator dinged and the doors opened.
I slowly opened my eyes and realized this floor was completely different from the chaos below.
It was quiet. Eerily quiet.
I swallowed hard and forced myself to stand up.
The alcohol was starting to take over my brain.
I leaned against the wall, stumbling down the hallway until I reached the very end.
I saw a private suite with the door slightly ajar.
Inside, a man in a black suit sat with his back to me. He was holding a glass of red wine, talking to a few other men.
"Who are you?" someone asked.
The man in the suit turned around. It was Jaxon's face. But he looked serious, lacking his usual smirk.
I thought he went to see his side-piece?
Why was he here?
I didn't have the energy to fight with him.
I just wanted to leave. I felt like I was about to pass out.
I walked over and collapsed onto my knees in front of him. "Jax, please stop playing with me. I want to go home. Please, just take me home as my birthday gift."
His eyes flickered. He reached out and pulled me into his arms.
The other men immediately stepped out of the room.
It was just the two of us.
"You want me to take you home?"
His voice sounded different―deeper, slightly raspy.
I nodded frantically. "Yes, please."
"I found you. The game is over now."
I was shivering. He gently stroked my hair. "Willa is such a good girl. I'll take you home right now."
My vision started to fade, and my head throbbed.
I felt him lift me up and carry me out. I blacked out before we reached the car.
When I woke up, I was in a high-end hotel room.
A man who looked exactly like Jaxon was sitting by the window on the phone.
"Yeah, size 36B. About 90 pounds. Get some decent clothes over here."
I realized I wasn't wearing anything under the covers.
I pulled the blanket tight, my mind filled with Sienna's recording and Jaxon's cruel game.
My heart ached with every breath.
This toxic relationship had to end.
"Jaxon, we're over―"
Before I could finish, my phone started ringing.
The caller ID showed Jaxon's name.
But Jaxon was standing right in front of me.
I answered the call.
"Willa, you freaking idiot! You picked the wrong person! The one who took you home was my twin brother!"
That's everything available right now.
