The water hissed in the shower as I wiped my face.

An hour ago, I was waiting for Sierra at the restaurant I'd reserved half a year ago.

It was our seventh wedding anniversary, and Sierra had promised me a surprise.

I was holding the movie adaptation contract she had been desperate for.

I had imagined her joy a thousand times in my head.

Right before the signing started, Sierra was still texting me.

"Honey, I'm a bit busy today. Wait for me, xoxo."

Sweetness filled my heart as I told her not to rush.

I casually opened the live stream of her book signing.

Sierra was wearing a white silk dress, her eyes brimming with tears as she spoke into the mic.

"Thank you all for the love. "Celestial" is based on a true story. It records the pure, innocent love between me and my first love, Gavin Thorne."

"This book captures my entire youth. I've decided to stop writing after this. This is my final goodbye."

I froze where I stood while the audience erupted into thunderous applause.

People rushed forward, asking about her and Gavin's ending.

I held my breath, waiting for her answer.

She said with red eyes, "My lover left me when I was eighteen."

"I've missed him every single day all these years."

My heart shattered into a million pieces.

I didn't even know how I made it back home.
