Chapter 2

2 Right up until the day I went into labor, he was saying, "If I'd broken up with you sooner, Tiffany would still be here."

Now, I saw right through his BS.

"If you hate her so much, why don't you just block her number? Out of sight, out of mind."

Greg was thrown off by my reaction and started backpedaling.

"That would be, like, brutal. Besides, if she wasn't hitting on me, she'd be hitting on some other guy. I'm just taking one for the team."

Greg didn't notice how my mood had changed. He just looked pleased as punch that someone was crushing on him.

Everyone knew Tiffany had a thing for Greg.

She was always there, from our first date to our wedding.

Our friends thought she was a total psycho, but she was like, immune to it. She just kept chasing Greg.

I could be a bit of a drama queen, so Tiffany would be the one to listen to Greg's problems.

I wasn't touchy-feely, Tiffany always gave Greg the puppy dog eyes.

I didn't drink, but Tiffany would be at Greg's side drinking and celebrating with their friends.

She always seemed to know exactly where I fell short, and how to fill in the gaps.

I took his phone right out of his hands and started typing.

[The weather's gonna be bad tomorrow. Don't go.]

She answered instantly. [OMG, Greg, are you worried about me? This is the best! Mount Serenity really works! I'm definitely going tomorrow!]

I was about to try and talk her out of it, but Greg snatched the phone back. When he saw our conversation, he calmed down.

"Amanda, don't just take my phone. We agreed when we started dating that we would respect each other's privacy. I'll let it slide this time, but don't do it again."

He was scared.

Scared I'd find the proof of his love for Tiffany on his phone.

I wanted to figure out why Greg was so broken up about Tiffany.

One night, when he was passed out drunk, I found his secret.

His phone had all these notes in them from when him and Tiffany were together, and what he thought about her.

[There's this freshman, Tiffany, super outgoing. She's nothing like Amanda, and not as pretty, but I can't stop looking at her.]

[Tiffany told me she liked me. I turned her down, no question. I swore I'd marry Amanda, but I don't know why my heart was going so fast when she said that.]
